Counselling in Birmingham
Confidential support and help from an experienced BACP registered Psychotherapist
Because life is often complicated, challenging and downright painful I offer confidential, professional and compassionate counselling and psychotherapy to adults.
We all react differently during testing times but our shared reality is that we all experience difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours. You don’t need to go through these moments in life alone. Let me support you.
I work with adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, and addiction. Whether you are dealing with self-doubt, harmful behaviours or struggle with relationship or work issues together we can work through your concerns.
Combining Gestalt therapy with creative process, mindfulness and stress reduction practices I listen deeply and create a safe and supportive environment in which we work collaboratively to help you achieve the life you want. I promise you that therapy works if you do the work. What you get back at the end will be the truest and most natural expression of yourself, your self-worth and self-compassion.
Counselling and Psychotherapy
I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist offering confidential and professional counselling in Birmingham close to the City Centre. I work in the same way whether as a Gestalt counsellor or Gestalt psychotherapist.
- Counselling tends to be shorter-term (on average 6-12 sessions) and focused on specific issues for example bereavement
- Psychotherapy tends to be medium and longer term dealing and we go deeper into more complex issues. Click on this link to NHS Choices to find out more from about psychotherapy and psychotherapists .
The decision as to whether or not you want counselling or psychotherapy is something we would discuss at out first meeting and during the course of work so that we find the right approach for you.
Gestalt is a creative psychological process which uses our relationship as a powerful avenue for your self-awareness, self-expression and growth.
How do Counselling and Psychotherapy work?
In both Counselling and psychotherapy you and I explore feelings, thoughts, behaviours and experiences. We look at what’s getting in the way of your peace of mind, and what will bring you more ease in life right now.
You are the expert in your own life. My job as your counsellor or psychotherapist is to accept and support you as you are, to put your needs first in every session so that together we shine a light on things that are not serving you – limiting beliefs, negative patterns, or unhealthy relationships with yourself or others.
