The fee for individual Psychotherapy and Counselling (assessment and subsequent session) depends on location. In Central Birmingham Fees range from £80.00 to concessions at £50.00. In Central London it’s £120.00 or concessions at £80.00.
I offer a limited number of low-cost places in Birmingham between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm in the daytime for people who are unwaged or on a state pension, so if either of these reflect your circumstances do let me know when you get in touch. Please note these slots are currently full (Oct 2017)
It’s enormously important that you work with the right person for you. I might not be right for you! We would first meet for a 50-minute session to figure out whether Gestalt is for you. This initial meeting is a mutual assessment at the end of which we discuss whether you and I want to work together.
We would then agree a contract for weekly one-to-one sessions, initially for a 6 week period. Normally we meet weekly, at the same time and at the same place.
Each session lasts 50 minutes.
The way we work together and how long we work for will be led by your needs, not a specific timetable, set of steps or techniques.
You might choose to focus on a specific issue, in which case we might agree to work for just 6-8 weeks. Alternatively you may feel you’d like support with something longer-term.
You may not be sure what you need or how long you may want to be in therapy. Don’t worry – the process is led by what you require. My experience is that together we’ll be able to figure it out as the process unfolds.
I have comfortable, discreet, consulting rooms close to Birmingham City Centre in Digbeth (Birmingham B9) with sessions available Wednesdays or Thursdays.
I also offer therapy from Cavendish Square in London (W1G) on Sundays between 3pm and 7pm.
The Birmingham therapy rooms have secure access, affordable parking close by and excellent public transport links including bus and rail. Do please let me know if you have specific access needs.
The room in London is very close to Oxford Street and Bond Street tube stations and well served by buses. Cavendish square is behind John Lewis , Oxford Street. (Note: Only one spaces available at Cavendish Square as of October 2017)
